I would say yes, but it long ago now.

I believe my idea was to provide to a user the opportunity to define pure parameter by using variables that are not Inputs and not outputs.
The formalism stay the same, but gui and metadata does change.
I think this was the idea.
In the GUI plugin the types are so far ("In"|"Out"|"In/out")
Adding a "notIn/notOut" = adding a "Parameter" and Input ports and Output ports would not be generated.
Wrong in Fact, Parameter is wrong, You are right It should be named "Internal"
