Hi folks,

I came across assumptions that because this Accordion Example is a W3C Best Practice it has to be implemented exactly in this way ("one panel of the accordion is always expanded, and only one panel may be expanded at a time") in all cases where expandable/collapsable content is present. Is an improvement of the description possible or something like a disclaimer which clarifies that this example describes a specific situation and that this specific implementation (""one panel of the accordion is always expanded, and only one panel may be expanded at a time") is not generally and in all cases where expandable/collapsable content is present the best way and not a must? One example: A long article with - let's say - 6 H2 (controls) and several sub headings (H3, H4...) with text. In this case user would not have the possibility to expand two or more H2 or all if they want it to read through the text.

In case there is agreement on that. Probably this would do the job

"In this specific implementation, one panel of the accordion is always expanded, and only one panel may be expanded at a time. Note: This specific implementation which describes a Best Practice for a form is neither a must for all situations where expandable/collapsable content is present nor for every content the best way. Example..."

Cheers

Kerstin
