Should we have community meetings or office hours

Motivation

Having a way for our contributors and users to come together and talk about issues, ideas, proposals, blockers, etc.

Do we need it?

Listing down a few reasons why/how this might help

• anyone can voice their opinions
• expedite work on blockers
• brain-storming new ideas
• encouraging and supporting active members
• paving the way for future of this project

How to make it happen?

Let's start small 🙂, and on that note here are some initial suggestions

• Schedule bi-weekly online meeting every other week
• Create and maintain a document to note down MoMs

On this, I agree with having a meeting that is once every two weeks. At the same time, since English is a funny language, I suggest using a different set of words.

Definitely a good idea. There are hundreds of tools to get the job done and I like keeping things on GitHub personally. But Google Docs seems to be a popular choice**, maybe to be inviting to all kinds of people, including those who might not be as familiar with GitHub or Markdown.

** Used by Argo Workflows and a few Kubernetes SIGs that I know.

Also, any preference on the day of the week? I would suggest first and third Thursday of the month. If you agree and aren't waiting for any more inputs, may I please request to get the first Office Hours scheduled for this Thursday?

• every other Thursday is ambiguous if no start date is given/hard to calculate even if start date is given.
