Stats

Here are a few stats:

  • the average rating is 4.54, that would be equivalent to ~ 91% on Steam,
  • the average number of votes is ~ 7500 votes,
  • the minimum rating is 3.52 (Train Life), that would be ~ 70% on Steam,
  • the minimum number of votes is 20 (What the Golf, etc.).

So:

  • it is safe to assume that the games that do not appear have fewer than 20 votes,
  • I suspect the ratings are rigged, in the sense that there is some bias toward 5/5.

Bayesian average rating

Now, here is the top and bottom of the ranking of games, using an approach similar to SteamDB's rating. The best games are on the left, the worst games are on the right, out of a total of ~ 600 games.

Ranking of games based on the Bayesian average rating

Interestingly, this does not match a ranking of Steam games. For instance, Red Dead 2 is #1 on EGS, and much further on Steam (#1455 on Steam250, #2272 on SteamDB).
