Short Summary

Warden Protocol is a high-performance blockchain platform designed for OApps developers, featuring modular security, interoperability, and chain abstraction. Unlike traditional monolithic blockchains, Warden Protocol allows developers to use a set of composable modules with standardized, chain-agnostic syntax to create unique user experiences. Each OApp component can be individually developed, tested, and configured. This platform provides a shared infrastructure that reduces development costs and accelerates deployment, enabling developers to focus on innovative application-specific features without needing to maintain extensive blockchain infrastructure.

Why should Wormhole add this chain?

• Within 10 weeks we bootstrapped an unstoppable 150k strong community, 1.100 validators, generating over 3m transactions, and onboarding leading ecosystems partnership providers including Skip, Axelar, Lit Protocol, ForDefi, Silence Laboratories, evmOS, KYVE, and informal systems.
• Warden facilitates seamless cross-chain interactions, enabling applications to function across multiple blockchain ecosystems. We support interactions with various blockchains, enabling new use cases and simplifying user experiences.
• Developers can leverage shared infrastructure, avoiding the need to establish and maintain their own validator set and relayer network.
• Light lift for Guardians - Guardians are not required to run a full node for Warden - connectivity will be via a Gateway IBC connection.

Technology and Features

• We build using CosmosSDK and CometBFT consensus.
• We provide modular L1 blockchain infrastructure for omnichain applications. Any application developer can add Warden Protocol custom modules to their existing base app to turn their application into an OApp.
• We provide an intent configurator to configure the end-user’s application security settings, putting them in control of defining their own spectrum of custody: from holding their own keys, to sharding their keys and splitting them between users and enterprises, to delegating custody to an ISO-compliant, SOC-audited digital asset custodian, through to leveraging the latest in distributed key management protocols.

Technical requirements for running a node

None - Warden will emit messages to Gateway via IBC. Guardians should not have to run anything additional (except for guardians who may run IBC relayers)

IBC Relaying Strategy

• We plan to deploy multiple validators operating IBC relayers connected to the Wormhole Gateway. We are coordinating with other relayer services to facilitate advanced use cases for our end-users. An IBC channel has already been established with Axelar.
