At Styra (the creators of Open Policy Agent, or OPA), we've been fans of Zed ever since it was open sourced earlier this year. Not being able to use it for policy authoring however forced us to go back to VS Code or IntelliJ for that, and obviously, we can't have that!
As we'd previously built a language server for Rego (the policy language used by OPA) within the Regal project, and there was an existing project providing a tree-sitter grammar for Rego available too, building an extension for Zed to support the Rego language was an obvious next step.
Today I'm happy to announce the Rego extension for Zed! We're already using it ourselves, and it's been a joy to work with. If you're ever working with OPA and Rego, try it out! We'd love to hear what you think.
For more details, go check out our blog announcing the extension.
