When I close Zed I get an error message in the terminal from which I opened it, which keeps repeating over and over:
Protocol error 2 on object zxdg_toplevel_decoration_v1@27:
I have to ctrl-c to make it stop.
As a consequence, if I instead open Zed from wofi (my application launcher) and close it, I have to go find the process and terminate it, otherwise it keeps running and I am unable to open a new Zed instance.
@ap-1 oh indeed, I didn't notice that the built-in quit didn't have the same problem because I always close applications with my window manager shortcut.
