#2594 also appears to resolve the same problem, but I would still love to have the best of both implementations! I know you were working on adding some more tests, and I always appreciate improvements to that. |

This PR resolves the bug outlined in #2472.
Testing will be added before I mark this as ready for review but the change is generating valid code in the examples directory.
