Now that the web is more or less stable, we should perform a11y review to ensure all parts of the site are a11y-friendly.

@iseletsk not only has this "patch" not fixed anything, it has in fact introduced even more issues with the accessibility (and usability) - for example this removal of focus indicators ???.

The goal of this task was to do at least a basic WebAIM/WCAG check to ensure contrast ratios for page content, labels and alts set properly, font sizing recommendations are honored, among other things, in both landing and all the main sub-pages.

I know for a fact this has not been done on the account that while I did place great emphasis on the site being designed in an accessible way from the very start, I also do remember things I did miss for one reason or another - and I see fixes for none of those issues here.
