Update - This is a plugin conflict between Gutenberg 16.1+ and CoBlocks (any version). A site with both plugins active active pastes copied content without the line breaks.

Unclear if this is the same issue, but the user shared that for 3 years they've used the same workflow, and starting around July 7, they can no longer paste content as they had. (Gutenberg updated from 16.0.0 -> 16.1.2 on their site on July 7)

This user found pasting into the Classic editor, then converting to blocks, worked as a workaround.

I landed on one of the tickets here and did some testing on an AT site to replicate it with 2021 theme. On one older site, I was able to replicate it, but on a newer site, with less plugins, I couldn't replicated it. I thought it was a plugin issue, so I tried installing the same plugins that the user has and still could not replicate it. I am not sure why in the first site had the issue but the second one did not.

So far, the pattern I'm seeing is that AT sites that are older than 4 years with Classic Themes are losing their paragraphs/line breaks when copying rich text over as of around July 7. Will see if I can dial that in any further with repro testing.

@Robertght I've added this to our 'User Waiting' board in case this ever gets fixed by CoBlocks, but I would not give users any expectation of hearing from us soon on that! We're really just waiting to see if CoBlocks ever addresses it, but as we've deprecated CoBlocks' integration with WordPress.com sites (p9oQ9f-1yg-p2), we likely won't do more than that.
