Execution

The team has started third weekly sprint of 21.04 release cycle (Sprint 12.3). Release 21.04 marks the first production upgrade of the Casper protocol. The top priority is to launch Mainnet and keep it up and stable.

This release will focus on Performance & Sustainability.

The goal is to patch Mainnet with the first round of sustainability features:

• Reduce Protocol State Memory Consumption
• Networking Robustness

Release

Tag v0.9.4 with Rust node was cut on 22 March 2021 and deployed for tests.

Delta Testnet

Delta Testnet resumed on March 13th. Current status for DELTA-11 Block Height: 16630 with 100 Validators and 519 bids

Current Focus

Performance, hardening, and production engineering work.

Highway

• Test more specific equivocation attacks.
• Prioritize synchronization of vertices with lower sequence number.

Node - Rust

• Test Social Consensus Emergency Restart.
• Prototype joiner.
• Add integration test: can a new node bond.
• Check crate dependencies.

Test and SRE

• Support testnet.
• Prepare for Mainnet - provision hardware & set up infrastructure
• Prepare monitoring tutorial & docs for validators.
• NCTL & STESTS support & extensions.

Ecosystem

• JS SDK: Implement CLValue to_bytes methods.
• Implement casper_contract DSL enhancements.
• Casper course slides and recordings.

Economics Research

• Public-facing auction docs improvements.
• Slice & dice platform performance/evolution data from SRE.

Contract Runtime

• Implement Runtime::gas optimization.
