Left clicking a icon gives you a plethora of options such as

Search:

Go back a folder: Escape
Go up a folder: F1

Close App:

Ctrl + Alt + Q
AltGr + Q

Create files and folders

Right click on an empty space to open a context menu to create either files or folders
