Primarily intended to update glam from 0.15.2 to 0.16.0, but figured I'd update everything else in the process.

Weirdly, this breaks the compute shader example's timer. Probably a wgpu bug.

Yeah, I did try using wgpu 0.8, but the timer was broken for me too - haven't looked into what's wrong yet though.

This also does let us remove MPL-2.0

As of EmbarkStudios#674, the crate of the
advisory is no longer in our tree

* Upgrade to wgpu 0.9

We can't remove MPL from the deny.toml yes, as wgpu-subscriber
is still MPL

* swap to env-logger and log in all example paths

This also does let us remove MPL-2.0

As of #674, the crate of the
advisory is no longer in our tree

* Add a workaround for our *erm* strange codegen
