This is a space for discussing features proposed by users. Feel free to add your thoughts here!
- Zoom tools. It’d be really nice if I could change the vertical scale without messing with the horizontal.
- Scrolling like any other program. Something like Photoshop’s ability to CTRL-scroll for horizontal would be nice.
- Layout tools: Label over lines, font, size, weight, decoration. Color chooser. Line type, weight, endpoint type.
- Export to image file types.
- Export to web (Javascript? HTML?).
- Support for AD/BC dates
- Support for time lines spanning thousands, millions, or billions of years (While this is no doubt desirable in a general use timeliner, I’m not sure there are many news stories that deal in anything longer than ‘decades’)
- Support for seconds would be nice for visualising log and filesystem data which occurs over a compressed timeframe.
h2. UI tools: - Ability to deal with open-ended events (no start or end date) explicitly would be nice, too.
- Ability to represent different calendars (Western, Indian, Chinese, …) and convert between them.
- Ability to change the colors representing different data points so you could group similar things together with colors that are closer to one another (like red, yellow, orange versus purple, blue, green)
- Ability to change the sizes of the dots in calendar or other views.
- Ability to change the sizes of the day boxes in calendar view. (My list view gets cut off because there are multiple entries in a box.)
- Ability to group by weeks rather than just days/months/years.
