Hello, this is not an issue, just a shout-out:
@AutohomeCorp has created an alternative for time-shifting queries:
https://github.com/AutohomeCorp/autohome-compareQueries-datasource

It's very easy to use, and While it is unsigned, I have successfully tested it on Grafana v9.1.4 with the new Time Series react Panel,
(with allow_loading_unsigned_plugins: autohome-comparequeries-datasource option )

Any reason not to contribute to this repo and instead create a new one ?

Also might be worth explaining why the new plunging is easier/better compared to the current one

I am not affiliated with https://github.com/AutohomeCorp,
but with due respect, this repo seems dead, there's no community contribution, or any new commits since Mar 8, 2022..

There are a lot of open issues without resolution, and in a 'simple' Prometheus + Grafana 9 setup,
grafana-meta-queries produces an error, and after reading the existing open and closed issues,
I was confused if that was due lack of support to prometheus, or the new Grafana react graph panel, or both..

The new plugin isn't better, it does not have feature parity with this repo,
but it does implement the time shift feature, which is very useful..
and yes, Prometheus does have the 'offset' functionality built-in to PromQL, but this repo \ autohome-compareQueries-datasource are generic implementations

But autohome-compareQueries does work with relatively latest grafana, and prometheus queries,
I did not mean to spam in all other existing issues, I simply wanted to help others out, because some of us, I'm sure can contribute to this repo in some way, not everyone has the time resources to invest..
I guess that might be true to you, and other contributors..

I have used grafana-meta-queries in the past with InfluxDB and Elasticsearch, with Grafana 6,
and I have tons of appreciation ❤️ for the work that was done here, really, this is an awesome plugin 👍 ..
