Macfand is a daemon for automatic fan control of systems running Linux using coretemp and applesmc modules.

It is targeted mainly at Apple laptops running Linux.

This is unofficial software and by using it you agree to taking full responsibility for possibly damaging your computer.

Current status

Currently available features for version 0.1-alpha are:

• Automatic loading of system temperature monitors and their properties (maximum temperature and label)
• Automatic loading of system maximum temperature
• Automatic loading of system fans and their properties (maximum speed, minimum speed and label)
• Logging to stdout, syslog or file
• Widget mode writing current fan speeds to a file which can be read for example with i3status.
