Goals and Objectives of committee managing IHE use of HL7 IG publisher

Overall Goal

This IHE workgroup has the following 7 goals that it wishes to accomplish as part of the effort to adopt a more mature and automated specification publication and usage process in support of profile developers and implementers alike.

Specific Goals and Objectives

1. Provide a mechanism to publish IHE profiles that use "HL7 IG Publisher Tool"

• Initial scope is new IHE profiles, but future may be papers or other specifications

2. Provide support for IHE editors

• overall look and feel consistent with IHE marketing - icon, fonts, headers, etc -- https://github.com/IHE/ihe-ig-template
• navigation layout consistent with IHE supplement - (sections, parts, transactions, options table) -- https://github.com/IHE/supplement-template
• support for graphics tools (e.g. UML, sequence, etc)
• support for test plan and artifacts
• canonical URL management
• consistent artifacts

3. Create positive user experience for the IHE publication process for implementers and readers

4. Provide support for IHE Governance of Profile Development

• Profile Proposals, Profile Editing, Balloting, Ballot recon, Trial-Implementation, Final-Text, Change Proposals
• Maturity Model mechanics- how does the FHIR FMM reflect in an IHE Profile

5. Provide mechanics for approved profiles to be published recognizing author tool installation issues

6. Leverage cloud services and automate where possible

• folder organization similar to IHE domain management today - discoverability and portability to enable external readers

7. Collect and provide feedback to HL7 Publication Authoring tools

• improvements such as needed for integration into IHE test environment (e.g. Gazelle)
