Using NeTEx
NeTEx is a protocol for data exchange between two IT systems for planned information. Data can be exchanged via XML files. As NeTEx data files tend to be quite large to include detailed information about a public transport network, it is not recommended to use any other format than XML. It allows to leverage XML's ability to parse data line by line within a time window, which offers performance advantage.
These examples are for you to understand how to represent public transport information using NeTEx. The files are classified into 3 categories:
- Functions, for a specific functional representation
- Standards, as for how to represent the information from a given standard into NeTEx
- Profiles, for information found in a given profile of NeTEx
