Pre-workshop Guidelines for Participation
On March 23, 2023 the MaCFP Organizing committee organized a virtual meeting to summarize the Target Experiments and Modeling Guidelines for the upcoming MaCFP-3 Workshop (October 22, 2023; Tsukuba, Japan). This virtual meeting provided:
- An Overview of the Measurement and Computation of Fire Phenomena (MaCFP) Working Group
- A Timeline of Events in Preparation for the MaCFP-3 Workshop
- A Summary of the Experimental Measurements and Modeling targets of each of the MaCFP-3 Target Cases:
- Gas-Phase Modeling: Pool Fires & Gaseous Burner flames
- Condensed-Phase Modeling: Material property set validation exercise
- Coupled Modeling (Gas- and Condensed-Phase): Fire growth: 1.46 m tall corner wall& 2.44 m tall parallel panels

Pyrolysis Model Validation (PMMA)
The MaCFP Condensed Phased Subgroup organized a pyrolysis model validation exercise to recommend a material property set for use in MaCFP-3 fire growth simulations. Experimental measurements, the results of this pyrolysis model validation exercise, and a recommended material property set were shared in a series of virtual meetings . Further details are available online.
