AtliQ Hospitality Analysis - PowerBI

This hospitality project is one of the resume project challenges run by Codebasics on a monthly basis.

The Challenge ( Problem Statement )

The challenge is about the imaginary company called AtliQ Grands which owns multiple Five-Star hotels across India. AtilQ Grands is losing business to competitors due to their management’s ineffective decision-making.

Now AtliQ Grands is losing its market share and revenue in the luxury/business hotels category. The revenue management team has decided to use Business and Data intelligence to identify the gaps and make decisions accordingly.

They are looking for a Data Analyst who can provide them with the relevant insights to help them solve this problem.

Task List

As a data analyst has been provided with sample data and a mock-up dashboard to work on the following task.

  1. Create the metrics according to the metric list.

  2. Create a dashboard according to the mock-up provided by stakeholders.

  3. Create relevant insights that are not provided in the metric list/mock-up dashboard.

Using all the information and data provided by the stakeholders, I analyzed and created this report. This report shows metrics that will help solve the problems faced by AtliQ Grands’s management in generating good revenue.

Learnt things from this Project

  1. Learnt to build a new visual (Calendar visual) using matrix table, which can be utilized for different purpose of analyze. This visual, when hovered over a calendar date, displays the performance metrics for the business, providing an easy-to-understand snapshot of the hotel's performance over time.

  2. Tried using color palette and stick with that colors throughout the dashboard

Some Important insights from the Dashboard

  1. Mumbai generates the highest revenue (669 M) followed by Bangalore, Hyderabad and Delhi

  2. AtliQ Exotica performs better compared to all 7 type of properties with 320 Million revenue, rating 3.62, occupancy percentage 57 and cancellation rate as 24.4%.

  3. AtliQ Bay has the highest occupancy of 66%

  4. Week 29 recorded the highest revenue among all, which is 139.7 Million

  5. Delhi tops both in occupancy and rating followed by Hyderabad, Mumbai, Bangalore.

  6. Elite type rooms has the most booking and as well higher cancellation rate
