Most recent feedback that prompted me to open this, the term puppet may give the impression that:

"Discord users are labeled/branded as puppets who use Discord as they cannot think with their own brains."

Yesterday I was wondering in Finnish also when did the term change from ghost to puppet and it seems that the term never changed, they were supposed to have a fine difference on ghost being at Matrix and puppet on the other side, possibly with strings going to Matrix where the puppeted user would be controlled from, but in practice everyone is using the two words interchangeably.

I also asked this on the #bridging:matrix.org room and am yet to get an (serious) answer

ghosts and puppets are two distinct things:
a ghost is a virtual matrix user of the remote service
a puppet is a puppeted remote user from a matrix account

confirmed Sorunome

so, soru uses mx-puppet-bridge to use her own discord account
in that way, her own discord account becomes a puppet of her matrix account
the other people talking on discord now appear as ghosts within matrix

Oh, I am forgetting a term entirely

double-puppeting btw is if your remote account and your own matrix account can act as a puppet for the other one, so with the discord case: if soru were to then use the official discord client and send a message, it'd appear as her own matrix account, making her own matrix account a puppet to discord in this case

This is complicated, it was wrong here for ages.
