What is this?

RoUpdates is an open source Discord Bot project,

An automated Roblox discord bot made with PYTHON using the framework library Discord.py,

that checks and tracks for new Roblox versions.

The official Discord Bot is a PRIVATE Part of the " Roblox Version Status " Discord Community Server.

RoUpdates is The Roblox Client Tracker Open-Source Discord Bot Project.

RoUpdates aims to provide new and old Roblox Client Versions.

NEW Version = newData

OLD Version = oldData

RoUpdates notifies about Roblox Client Updates.

The information that is mined and presented by The Roblox Client Tracker is retrieved using publicly disclosed end-points.

Selfhosting

Self-hosting is recommended for advanced users only who are experienced with Python and Discord.py.

RoUpdates requires Python 3.9.0 or greater. If you need Python 3.9.0+, you can get it from here: Python 3.9.0 Download.

Minimum Python Versions: Python 3.5.3 (3.5.3+), Python 3.5.5 (3.5.5+), Python 3.6.0 (3.6.0+)

Recommended Python Versions: Python 3.7.0 (3.7.0+), Python 3.8.0 (3.8.0+), Python 3.9.0 (3.9.0+)

1. To get RoUpdates ready to run locally, the first step is to clone this repository onto the machine you wish to run it on.

2. Install the required dependencies.

   pip install -U -r requirements.txt
   

3. Edit the file src/config/config.json.

4. Start the bot from the project folder: python ./src/main.py

    "bot_prefix"           : String. The bot command prefix.
    "bot_token"            : String. The bot token that is used to log in to your bot.
    "channelId"            : String. Default "000000000000000000". The Discord Channel ID to POST.
