Mailing list input field shows placeholder text when not active

Describe the bug
The placeholder text ada.lovelace@example.com in the footer for the input field/box to enter your email address to Join our mailing list displays when it is not active - overlapping with the existing default placeholder text E-mail address (required).

To Reproduce
Steps to reproduce the behavior:

1. Go to https://search.dataone.org/data/page/3
2. Scroll all the way down
3. See the overlap, which disappears once you click into the input field

Expected behavior
I expect to only see E-mail address (required), without any text underneath that makes it difficult to read.
