Refine install script and upgrade python syntax #75

Main updates:

Refine install script to report error when any command fails
Upgrade codebase python syntax using pyupgrade package
Fix gh workflow apt exit code 100 issue by running with sudo apt

Now the install script will exit immediately if any command fails. Users have to fix the reported error before continuing installation. The script now works well no matter how many times it's executed.

Now the install script will exit immediately if any command fails. Users have to fix the reported error before continuing installation. The script now works well no matter how many times it's executed.
