First, install OpenBangla-Keyboard as per the instructions given here.
-
Now open up IBus Preferences by going to System>Preferences>Other>IBus Preferences from the top panel.
- The IBus Preferences window will open up.
From here, select the Input Method tab.
- Click on Add, and a new window with a list of languages will pop up.
- Select Bengali. You'll see OpenBangla Keyboard layout listed there.
Select it and click on Add. You'll now see two input methods listed on the Input Method tab.
- Now go to the General tab and choose a Keyboard shortcut for changing your layout between English and OpenBangla Keyboard. You can see below that I've chosen it to be F12.
- Reboot your system. (This is important, if you don't reboot, the changes might not take effect)
