Score Viewer is a simple viewer of CGSS scores (beatmaps). It looks like the image below:

Usage

Workflow

  1. Select a music file.
  2. Select a score file.
  3. Select a difficulty level.
  4. Load score and music.
  5. Play.
  6. Unload score and music.

GUI Elements

  • Select Audio: Click to select the music file. Supported formats are WAV, HCA and ACB. If you are using HCA or ACB with HCA in it, and the HCA has a cipher type of 56, the keys must be CGSS keys.
  • Select Score: Click to select the score file. Supported formats are BDB (directly from game) and CSV (single beatmap).
  • Difficulty Selection: Select the difficulty. If you are using a CSV file, the difficulty selection is ignored. Please note that not all BDB files contain all difficulties (Debut to Master+). If you request a difficulty that the BDB file doesn't have, Score Viewer will show a message.
  • Load and Unload: Load and unload score and music. Score and music must both be loaded in order to start playing. They must be unloaded in order to exit the application.
  • Playback slider: Reflect and set the playback progress.
  • Play, Pause and Stop: Playback controls.
  • Limit frame rate: Limits frame rate to 60 when checked. Designed to suppress flickering, but may cause lags.
  • SFX: Sound effect selection. Correspond to 4 sound effects in CGSS. (Well someone should add the taiko one.)
  • Music Volume and SFX Volume: Adjust music and SFX volumes.
  • Falling speed: Adjust the falling speed of notes.

Display Area

  • Deep red circles: Character avatars.
  • Red line: The position that notes begin to appear.
  • Flying circles: Notes. The styles are mimicking those in CGSS.
  • Connection lines:
    • Blue: Sync.
    • Yellow: Hold.
    • Green: Flick.
    • Purple: Slide.
