Tools for teaching computer science classes. This toolset was designed to work on the Yale Zoo computers. You can build this project using bazel. You can install Bazel locally as a user on the Zoo; checkout these instructions.
Submit is a programming assignment submission program. This tool is intended to be used as a setgid program, it should be placed in a directory that is accessible by students, but unmodifiable by them. It should have some elevated group permissions with the setgid permisssion enabled. This program is intended to be compiled for each assignment to be submitted.
This program, will copy student submissions into a subdirectory of the TARGET_DIR folder (defined in the BUILD file). Ensure that this directory is not readable or writeable by students, and has the group read/write permissions.
Running submit:
submit [info|get [N]]
The info arguement will print out all the submitted files for submission N, if specified, otherwise the latest submission.
The get argument will copy out all the submitted files to the GET_DIR_PREFIX in a subdirectory owned the username of the executing account. This can be /home/accts for example to copy the submission into a student's home directory.
Filenames with certain prefixes and suffixes will be ignored by this software. These are defined in the C++ code, but generally cover object files, binary files, and core files.
