Line chart with extend_to_end: false stops at <last update> instead of at <now>.

Describe the bug
Line chart of today with extend_to_end: false stops at the point where the sensor was last updated/changed. Instead, I would expect that the line gets extended until the current moment in time.

Additional context
As it can be seen in my config, I want to visualize the battery charge from today 0:00 till current point in time. Basically exactly like in the official HA energy dashboard.

Is there any chance to fix this (in case it is a bug)? Are there any workarounds? I played a bit with data_generator but was not successful. Maybe there is also something that I can do on my template sensor which delivers the data?

Does this mean the previous behaviour to stop the graph with the last given value with extend_to_end: false will be replace by extend_to: now ?

I explicitly do not want to extend some graphs and I am also not interested to span them to "now" if the old value is in the past... I saw a extend_to: false in the PR, I assume this is what I am looking for, right?
