Precompiled frimware hex file for a Creality CR-10S with the V2.1 board
With a broken control knob a filament change can waste your time but the print is far from garbage.
The potentiometer found in the 12 volt cr-10s models from Creality tend to stop working. Sometimes the knob works fine but it is acutally causing a short and an undetectable non-feedback fault eventually frying the power supply via causes that still aren't fully understood.
I've seen this broken knob on 3 different machines now with a few others found online. If you're curious yes a 500w Computer power supply does power the 12v Cr-10 models but it heats up real slow also triggering the thermal runoff detection with higher temps but printing PLA was no problem at all.
By default almost all firmware has EMERGENCY_PARCER disabled, With EMERGENCY_PARSER enabled the M108 command can be used to continue.
This firmware serves as a temporary fix for the ATmega 2560 Creality V2.1 12 volt board (while you wait for a new potentiometer from digikey)
This version of firmware has EMERGENCY_PARSER enabled as well as PID Bed tuning and the standard thermal runoff detection with all newer Marlin versions.
M108 command will work on filament change
