mp4v is not supported with codec id 12 #3

vid.py is giving me this error after i press 'q'

OpenCV: FFMPEG: tag 0x5634504d/'MP4V' is not supported with codec id 12 and format 'mp4 / MP4 (MPEG-4 Part 14)'
OpenCV: FFMPEG: fallback to use tag 0x7634706d/'mp4v'

and the out.mp4 is an empty video (256 bites long and doesn't output anything)

i'm using a laptop, the program works perfectly and i can see myself cartoonified on the camera but the video doesn't get saved
