Background

In order to foster a positive and inclusive environment for all contributors, we are introducing a Code of Conduct for the auto-gpt project. Additionally, we aim to improve the clarity and usability of the CONTRIBUTING.md file by updating it to a more general format.

Changes

  • Add CODE_OF_CONDUCT.md file to the project, outlining expected behavior and guidelines for contributors.
  • Update CONTRIBUTING.md with a more general format, making it easier for new contributors to understand and follow the guidelines.

Documentation

The new Code of Conduct file will be placed in the root directory of the project, while the updated CONTRIBUTING.md file will replace the existing one. Both files are written in clear and concise language, making it easy for contributors to understand the guidelines and expectations.

Test Plan

  • Review the Code of Conduct file to ensure it aligns with the project's values and principles.
  • Review the updated CONTRIBUTING.md file to verify that it is clear, concise, and easy to follow for new contributors.
  • Share the proposed changes with the community and gather feedback to ensure the changes are well-received and effective.

  • I have thoroughly tested my changes with multiple different prompts.
