The following are terms used in this documentation that may not be clear to all readers, and so are defined below.

Admin / Administrator | A user of the MonitorMe system, employed by StayHealthy Inc, who has authorisation to manage the overall system witin a Hosptial. |
Patient | A person who gets treated inside the Hospital and for this stays on one Nurse station |
Nurse Station | One specific area within a Hospital that houses up to 20 patients. |
Medical professional | A person that treats patients within the Hospital, e.g. a nurse or a doctor. |
Nurse | A medical professional who works at a given nurse station. |
Doctor | A medical professional who works at the Hospital and is not restricted to one specific nurse station. |
Input Device | A physical device that is capable of recording specific vital sign data such as heart rate, blood pressure, oxygen level, blood sugar, respiration rate, electrocardiogram, body temperature, sleep status |
Monitoring Screen | A physical device that is located on each Nurse station which displays consolidated patients vital signs of that station. |
MonitorMe | The system to which this architecture documentation relates. |
MonitorMe Mobile App | The mobile application that this architecture relates to. |
IoT Device | Internet of Things physical device. It communicates over a network with other systems. |
USP | Uninterruptible Power Supply, that will help make the network reliable in case of power supply failures. |
Availability | For our solution we defined this as uptime of the solution, for each of its systems. |
Performance | For our solution we defined this as the amount of time to process a business request by also considering a low memory footprint |
Agility | For our solution we defined this as the ability of the system to quickly react to business changes and expansion of the system. |
