0.3.0 beta
This is the beta version of the next iteration of the TwicPics WordPress plugin.
It is an unstable version that is not published on the WordPress plugins repository but rather distributed on this very page as a zip file for testing purposes.
In most likelihood, no. This version is unstable and not recommended for production.
However, if you want to test the new features of the TwicPics plugin and/or if you want to help us squash bugs before the official release then you may want to consider installing this beta.
- More freedom and flexibility regarding path names on your TwicPics domain,
- the option to optimize images that are not hosted on your WordPress site,
- settable image compression level, be it for reducing file size or enhance image quality,
- the possibility to mark specific images in your templates as not to be handled by the TwicPics plugin,
- the possibility to add specific attributes on images in your templates to set focus points and other transformations.
Version 0.3.0 is a complete rewrite of the plugin that should offer better stability on your end and easier maintenance on our end.
- Download the most recent zip file at the end of this document,
- go to your WordPress admin plugins panel,
- click on the
Add Newbutton at the top of the page, - in the next page, click on the
Upload Pluginbutton at the top, - finally, select the zip file you downloaded from the newly opened panel.
Each beta version will sit in its own folder in your WordPress installation so you can have multiple beta versions installed together with the official release of the plugin.
You must make sure you only have a single version of the plugin enabled at a time so as to avoid conflicts.
That being said, you can disable a version to enable another so as to see differences and help us tackle any bug you may find.
