Code Camp Events Module Volunteer Admin

Every event needs people to run it, and that is done almost exclusively by those who volunteer to help. This might be for running the registration table, setting up common areas, directing attendees, assisting sponsors, etc. This module allows you to automatically solicit attendees to offer to help you run the event.

Like with other user-based features, an event attendee won't be able to sign themselves up as a volunteer until they first login and/or register for the event. Once they do, they'll see a volunteer message.

If you're an admin or someone that can edit the module, you're automatically considered to be a volunteer. Congratulations! You're already signed up!

Upon clicking the Let Me Help button, a popup will appear asking for any special interests, skills, preferences, and limitations. Saving that one piece of information will give a prospective volunteer instant access to a task dashboard. They're ready to be told what to do. Go delegate!

When a volunteer first signs up, they'll see the following view, letting them know that they don't have any tasks yet.

If you can edit the module, your view will have an additional tab, where you can assign tasks to volunteers and see the overall workload for all volunteers.

Adding a task is simple. Just click the Add Task button next to the volunteer who you want to work on the task. When the popup appears, enter the title and specify when the task needs to be worked on. Once you save it, you'll see the task assigned to the volunteer.
