Install and use SwitchyOmegaEN
SwitchyOmega is a proxy switch plugin for Chrome browser.
The installation steps below will show you what to do if your network doesn't yet have the ability to access Chrome's Web App Store.
- There will be a SwitchyOmega in the XX-Net directory, which contains the SwitchyOmega.crx file
- It can also be downloaded from the official website: https://github.com/FelisCatus/SwitchyOmega/releases
- Open Chrome;
- Select More Tools -> Extensions (in older chrome, "Settings" option -> Extensions);
- Drag the downloaded SwitchyOmega_Chromium.crx directly into the Chrome page;
If the above installation fails, you can follow the steps below:
- Rename SwitchyOmega.crx to SwitchyOmega.zip
- Unzip SwitchyOmega.zip
- Rename the directory _metadata inside to metadata
- Open Chrome, select More Tools -> Extensions
- Click the developer mode in the upper right corner to switch to the open state
- Click "Load unzipped extension" and select the directory you just unzipped
-
After installing SwitchyOmega, click "Import/Export" in the pop-up window;
-
Select "Restore from backup file" and import the SwitchyOmega folder -> SwitchyOptions.bak (OmegaOptions.bak) in the XX-net directory;
-
Find SwitchyOmega (an icon of a circle) in the toolbar of the Chrome browser;
-
Click the Smart-Rout automatic switching mode below, or X-Tunnel forced proxy, and you can use it (generally choose the automatic switching mode);
Use options:
- Direct connection: No proxy is used.
- System Proxy: Use the proxy set by the operating system (deprecated)
- GAE-Proxy: Use the GAE proxy module, which is rarely used at present
- Smart-Router: Intelligent proxy, recommended, basically no intervention is required, websites outside the wall use proxy, and websites inside the wall can be directly connected quickly
- X-Tunnel: All websites have been proxied
- GAE-Proxy automatic switching: automatically switch to use GAE as a proxy according to the black and white list, which is rarely used
- X-Tunnel automatic switching: automatically switch to use X-Tunnel according to the black and white list
Q: SwitchyOmega shows that many resources are not loaded?
A: It may take a while. If there is no response after waiting for about 1 minute, it means that XX-net is not working normally.
Q: What is the difference between X-Tunnel and X-Tunnel automatic switching mode?
A: If it is set to X-Tunnel, it means a global proxy, and all data of the browser is transmitted through X-Tunnel; X-Tunnel automatic switching mode will only transmit domain names in the PAC blacklist through X-Tunnel, other traffic Automatically select direct connection
