Support Tiers

Tier Status Bugs Triage
1 Fully supported guaranteed timely fixes for reproducible bugs
2 Partial support builds are available and should be usable
3 Not supported no guarantees given, even if official builds are available - lowest priority

Platforms

Platform Architectures Tier
MS Windows 10 and 11 x86_64 1
Fedora & RHEL 8/9 x86_64 1
Fedora & RHEL 8/9 arm64 2
Debian & Ubuntu clients x86_64 2
MacOS 12 and later x86_64 and arm64 2
Everything else all 3

Common examples for "Everything else": all 32-bit builds, architectures not listed above (ie: arm64 and riscv64 on other platforms), servers running on Debian & Ubuntu, etc..

Notes:

Python Python

Branch Python Versions Supported
v3.1.x (EOL) 2.7, 3.4+
v5.x 3.6+
v6.x 3.10+

Desktop Environments

The client should work with all window managers and desktop environments, though there may be some minor issues with the more exotic variants.
Both X11 and Wayland environments are supported, but Wayland clients do not yet support quite as many features. (ie: no Client OpenGL, more limited clipboard synchronization, etc)
Installations that do not use the default desktop environment belong in tier-3.

Windows Microsoft Windows

Only Microsoft Windows versions 10 and 11 are actively supported.
Windows 8.x should also work, as well as recent Windows Server editions.

MacOS MacOS

  • requires MacOS version 12.x (aka Monterey) or later
  • the application is not notarized (#2441 - workaround)

BSD BSD

All BSD variants should work, but are not regularly tested.
