As noted here dankamongmen/notcurses#2533 (comment) , mlterm is no longer generating events when any-event mode has been requested. I just checked with today's git head, and button-event (1002) is working but any-event (1003) is not. I'm seeing this in vttest as well as jexer.

From vttest, it looks like the first any-event motion is being reported as a release, and then there are no more events unless a button is pressed.
