I find that the proposed toc format (based on
*and!) is less friendly for humans as well as editors :-)I believe a tab-delimited alternative can be useful for others as it was for me.
Also, having added bookmarks, one should expect them to be visible when the PDF opens.
So while adding this, I also allowed user to have some control over the default page and zoom to display when the PDF opens.
