What is the difference between the images "-us"

Hello ,
i am a liitle confused , because there are 2 different img-files.
[stratux-v1.6r1-eu027-3d07b461-us.img.zip]
[stratux-v1.6r1-eu027-3d07b461.img.zip]

both have an "eu" in the name and one has an "us".
what is the differnce between both images?

Its for historical reasons..
Initially, only the official cyoung/stratux was relevant.
This was then kind of abandoned and I created the EU version with lots of new development.
At some point, the US community wanted to have these benefits of new developments, too, so then a US image based on the EU version was created - the "-us" one.

It's basically the same, except:

• OGN disabled by default, UAT enabled by default
• Developer mode/extended settings disabled by default.
  The code is excactly the same, just different default settings.

Good that it works now. Please report if your pingEFB works as we don't have such units here in Europe for testing.

I am just a hobbyist and road warrior. I used it all the time several years ago (my issue reports are from 6 years ago). Oddly enough, it worked the moment I told you it worked, but when I looked back at the screen, it seemed dead and my drive activity light is on solid. A couple of years ago I filed a bug report about bad symlinks and was having trouble getting them to stick, so I was checking to see how things are going these days.

The behavior seems unchanged. I enabled ping support and disabled both SDR options. Went back to status and both the UAT and 1090ES message counts were full. I flipped over to Avare and didn't see anything, flipped back to the stratux UI and both message counts are 0. Ping device shows the red "Disconnected" on the status page. I was actually heading out for errands, shortly, and was not expecting immediate attention. I should probably open a new issue for this instead of piggybacking on this discussion.

Just chatted with @b3nn0 about this - seems that there is no immediate solution.

@EasternPA The symlinks are created by /etc/udev/rules.d/99-uavionix.rules. I had to do some adjustments to some of Stratux's udev rules in the past, but didn't change the Ping ones as I don't have such a device (and only very few people seem to have one).

If you manage to change the rules so they work properly, I'm happy to update them upstream. You can take inspiration from the 10-stratux.rules (mainly the UAT Radio ones).

I think somethink like this could work:

Make sure you disable "persistent logging" in the settings first and reboot your Stratux to disable the read-only overlay filesystem.
