pygitlab

A tool for creating multiple GitLab accounts and automatically add them to groups. It uses [pycurl] (https://github.com/pycurl/pycurl) for account creation and the GitLab API via [python-gitlab] (https://github.com/gpocentek/python-gitlab) for adding accounts to user groups.

Why not use [GitLab API] (http://docs.gitlab.com/ce/api/ci/README.html) for creating accounts?

The [GitLab API] (http://docs.gitlab.com/ce/api/ci/README.html) does only support creation of accounts with an password set. The HTTP interface of GitLab does suppoert this. As this is one of the main reasons for this tool, it is necessary to use the HTTP interface. There is also an [issue on GitLab] (https://gitlab.com/gitlab-org/gitlab-ce/issues/1051) for this.

Features

  • Creates a given set of accounts (without the need of setting a password) and adds them to specified groups
  • Adds existing accounts to specfied groups
