Requirements

Event Demographics

  • This event commits to Event Diversity and Inclusion.
    • Q Detail the process for measuring Event Demographics.
    • A For data privacy reasons, we have removed the (optional) attendee demographics questions from our event registration forms. However, we do measure speaker and scholarship applicant demographics with the CFP and application respectively.
    • Q Provide an example of an opt-out option on the Event registration page if available.
    • A Example of question with opt-out: What gender do you identify with? (Prefer not to answer, Woman, Man, Other Gender Identity)

    • A We provide an event survey in Slack and via email. Here is the survey we used for KubeCon+CloudNativeCon North America 2023 https://linuxfoundation.surveymonkey.com/r/S5293NK Additionally, on the D+I page of the event website, we have the following information: If you have ideas on how we can create a more inclusive event, please do not hesitate to let us know.     • A We made a large push towards improved accessibility on the event website. This round of improvements focused on: screen readers, keyboard navigation, alternative text, and color contrast issues.

    • A Yes. We review all feedback received, discuss as a team, and implement changes or suggestions as needed per event during our post-event team call and then take bigger issues or discussion topics to our team face to face meeting.
