silicon labs driver handles the usb-serial bridge piece web-usb won't work on windows with the siliconlabs driver (access denied) connection works with winUSB driver (zadig install), but that breaks the usb-serial bit so putty doesn't work and all transfers need to be done manually. This is fine for the web app, but best case scenario is to pick a usb-serial bridge chip with friendly drivers. Try the other couple bridge chips tomorrow!
