CLENT Africa Health

Welcome to the CLENT Africa Health repository! This project is dedicated to addressing the impacts of climate change on health within the African continent.

Overview

Climate change poses significant risks to health through various pathways, including the spread of diseases, heat-related illnesses, and impacts on food and water security. Our team is committed to researching, developing strategies, and implementing solutions to mitigate these health risks and adapt to changing conditions.

Objectives

  1. Research and Data Collection: Gather and analyze data on the health impacts of climate change in different regions of Africa.
  2. Policy Advocacy: Develop and advocate for policies that address climate-related health issues.
  3. Community Engagement: Work with local communities to raise awareness and implement adaptation strategies.
  4. Capacity Building: Provide training and resources to healthcare professionals and local stakeholders.
  5. Monitoring and Evaluation: Assess the effectiveness of implemented strategies and adjust as needed.

Getting Started

Prerequisites

  • Be a health practioner
  • Access to relevant climate and health data sources
  • Collaboration tools (e.g., Discord, Github, Email)
  • Statistical analysis software (e.g., R, Python)

Installation

Clone the repository to your local machine:

Navigate into the project directory:

cd health
