SCMDeploy is a ruby script that manages the deploy of your SCM controlled project.
SCMDeploy analyze your working copy to obtain the current head revision identifier. SCMDeploy then analyzes your repository to obtain the currently deployed revision identifier (through a file in the project deploy root). SCMDeploy then obtains differences from the SCM and aligns the deployed copy to the current head revision.
SCMDeploy reads ‘./scmdfile’ to find the configuration. See scmdfile.example to see how to configure. You can specify an alternative configuration file through command line switches. Issue ‘scmdeploy –help’ to see how it works. Any command line option overrides those found in scmdfile.
You can include your ‘scmdfile’ in you SCM because SCMDeploy will ignore it during deploy operations (as it was always included in the ignore list).
