I think my motivation here is to make it easy for people to contribute by providing clear directions so that they know what to expect, framed with clear timelines. e.g., include a turn-around timeline for feedback from the editor in chief to give feedback to the author team, as well as define what the process is for the author team to make edits in response (with turn-around time).

(bulleted list, flow chart, whatever -- just make it visual and not too process heavy).

Please feel free to delete this if it isn't in your vision.
