This is a bootable image, and allows a user to experience the DeBoot technique in the easiest way possible.

What you will need:

  1. USB stick (at least 1GB)
  2. x86_64 computer (e.g. most laptops, desktops, servers) running an existing operating system
    • power supply
    • ethernet connection

Instructions for use:

  1. Download the boot.img file
  2. Write to a USB stick (e.g. using Balena Etcher, Rufus (Windows), gnome-disk-utility or dd)
  3. Power off your computer
  4. Power on your computer - instruct computer to boot from the USB stick - this may require you to interrupt the normal boot sequence

You will know you have been successful when you reach this GRUB menu:

Notes

  1. Always check that the sha256 checksum of the file matches the published checksum.
