== Welcome to RLINGCMS

RLINGCMS is a configurable Content Managment System built on Rails 3 framework. 
RLINGCMS is just not a CMS to store and retrieve information related to pages, but
also includes a full fledge Management system that is required for a small scale web
application.

== FEATURES OF RLING CMS

RLING CMS Constitutes of the following 5 Major Areas

1. User and Group Management System
2. Page and Menu Management System
3. Dynamic Forms and Submission System
4. Dynamic Model Management System
5. Other Display and Grouping Systems.

== INSTALLATION PROCEDURE

0. Prerequesits

a. Ruby gems is installed
b. Bundler gem is installed

1. Download source code from Git 

> git clone git@github.com:rling/rling.git

2. Set Database settings

a. Open rling/config/database.yml file
b. Modify adapter settings such as adapter, username, password, database, pool, etc.,
c. save the database.yml file.

Default settings are 
  adapter: mysql
  database: rling
  username: root
  password: root 
(SKIP THIS STEP if your settings are same as RLING settings)

if database is different then update GEMFILE to install the correct gem.

3. Run rake task to do all the necessary installations

a. To execute and start the application in development mode use the below command

> rake rling:install 

b. To execute and start the applicaton in production mode use the below command

> RAILS_ENV=production rake rling:install

In both the modes, the task runs the following activities
a. bundle install
b. rake db:create
c. rake db:migrate
d. rake db:seed

4. Run the applications

> rails server

5. Access the application using http://localhost:3000

6. Register the first user to the website.
