This wiki page describes a prototype done for the Swedish IoT Hub for Accessibility that allows you to manually or automatically collect accessibility information for geographical locations.
Disclaimer! This is work in progress and do not by any means make any claims of being bug free, exhaustive or being a provider of reviewed and vetted accessibility information.
It contains a back-end API service based on REST and graphQL, a public web applications for manual handling of locations, source code and a wiki describing the system analysis, information model and solution overview.
The project is based on Agenda 2030 and the goal of sustainable cities and communities and to provide universal access to safe, inclusive and accessible green spaces and public places, especially for women and children, the elderly and people with disabilities. The purpose is to provide information that promotes mobility and accessibility to public spaces. The project thus aims to achieve its goal of contributing to increased social interactions, increased quality of life and increased mental well-being for the project´s target groups.
A point of interest in the environment that is important for users with special needs that allows them to know in advance if they can visit or use the location for his or her own needs. It can be stairs, elevators, escalators, doors, public restrooms, signs, transient events causing disturbances etc.
