The introspection data generation should be subject to the same level of warnings-as-errors promotion as the rest of the project.
Replace join_paths() with the forward slash operator.
When generating introspection data we care about the ability of running binaries on the host machine; if we can, even on a cross build, then that's enough for us.
The symbol visibility check is a lot simpler, now that we've switched to Meson's own gnu_symbol_visibility parameter and we're selecting the public attributes inside the versioning macro header.
