web: fix needed because recent upgrade to task breaks spinner button

Details

Upgrade from the @lit-labs/task version of Task to the officially released @lit/task variant broke the way the Task-managing buttons work.

I have replaced the version we had, which used too much awareness of what goes on inside the Task object, with a more robust version; there is only a single task and we do not attempt to mutate its operation. This variant lets the Task run(), succeed or fail as needed, and then replaces that Task with a new one waiting for the user event to trigger its run() pass. The behavior is correct and we do not need to reset the Task’s internal state manually.
